Who is Jacory Croskey-Merrit?

Jacory Croskey-Merrit is a running back for the Washington Commanders. He was a seventh-round pick (245th overall) out of Arizona. He started at Alabama State, near where he grew up, then transferred to New Mexico, where he had his first 1,000 yard season. His last year in college, he played for Arizona, but had eligibility issues and only had 13 carries in 1 game. Coming into the 2025 NFL Draft, Croskey-Merrit, who goes by “Bill” did not even know if he was going to be drafted. He still always feels like he has something to prove. When veteran running back Austin Ekeler got injured for the season, everyone in the Commanders running back room knew that they needed to step up. Bill showed this in week 5 of the 2025 NFL season, Bill had 14 carries for 111 yards, with 2 touchdowns. If he continues to play this well, Bill may win Offensive Rookie of the Year at the end of the season, and help the Commanders make the playoffs despite quarterback and receiver injuries.
